Cozumel Vacations

Cozumel Vacations

Summary
Cozumel Vacation Packages all begin with your selection of the one that suits you the best for an amazing and cost-effective vacation!
The biggest draw for vacationers to Cozumel is the very delightful ability to snorkel, scuba dive, go exploring via water equipment such as a kayak, canoe, or small boat. The sea is everything to the people of Cozumel, but when they are not revelling in it, they are dancing to live music being played on the beaches and in the streets (you are, of course, invited to join in). Speaking of beaches, you have numerous beaches along the west coast (Playa Villa Blanca, Dzul Beach, Playa Corona, Playa Mia, Playa Casitas, Playa Palancar and Carlos null Beach). The east coast has plenty of beaches as well (Playa Punta Chiqueros, Playa San Martin, Playa Chen Rio, Coconuts, Punta Morena and Playa Oriente).
As far as your personal safety while in Cozumel, you only need to take the usual precautions with your valuables and personal belongings and do not stray into secluded areas at night (the crime rate is not overly-concerning or high).
Culture
You will be interested to know that with Cozumel Vacation Packages, you will have exposure to the earliest settlement ruins at your access via the Olmecs and the Mayans. Evidence is clear from artifacts that settlement happened during the 1st millennium A.D. By the time the Spanish made landfall in Cozumel (early 15th Century), the Mayans were more than happy to supply their ships with foods and water, until the Maya were infected with smallpox by crew members of a visiting ship in 1520 (wiping out 85% of their population). The 18th Century was the beginning of colonization by the Mexicans, even though the Americans tried to purchase the island (the Mexican Government refused).
Exploration
Cozumel Vacations can lead you to the San Gervasio area, where you can see Mayan ruins, to the Chan Santa Cruz monument, the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, underwater cave diving (the 5th largest cave system in the world is in Cozumel), explore the mangrove forests to observe much of the wildlife, or just sit back at the deep-water pier and watch all of the people coming off of the cruise ships. Charter fishing is also available to you if you want to cast a line, go on a sunset cruise, or take in one of the lobster dinner cruises as an alternative to dining on land.
Food
The Vacation Packages in Cozumel will have you exploring Yucatecan/Mexican flavours, which is very unique and found mostly in Cozumel. A commonly-used paste that incorporates spices is Recado (achiote seeds, garlic, cumin, oregano, pepper, cloves, vinegar and cinnamon). Sour orange juice (derived from a unique orange found in the Yucatan) is also a largely used main ingredient for dishes. You will see dishes on the menus, like Cochinita Pibil (marinated pork null placed inside banana leaves and cooked on a low temperature and placed into a tortas (sandwich), Pescado a la Veracruzana (fish seasoned with green olives, chillies, tomatoes, onions and garlic), and for breakfast, the Huevos Motelenos (half-fried tortillas with fried eggs, cubed ham, cheese, black bean paste, onion, peppers, green peas and tomato sauce all covering the top of the tortillas).
Nightlife
Vacations in Cozumel provide you with an as-enjoyable nightlife to compliment your daytime fun! There are many drinking null spots you can check out in Cozumel, such as Ambar’s, Woody’s Bar null, La Hach, El Volado (order the beer tower and see just how many new friends you make!) and the Aqua.
For something a bit more laid back, just sip a drink and absorb the atmosphere at La Cocay’s.
